Applications are useful and all but they are just plain dull and won’t cut it during those 4 hour layovers not including the 5+ hour flight delays. Original Game Soft to the rescue! They have developed what is believed to be one of the first games with the Android SDK. Dodge Balls’ the name and you guessed it… dodging balls is the game. This video shows the latest rendition, and visit here for videos of earlier versions which highlights their development of controls, animations, etc.

We’d like to hear more about Android development. If you are developing games like this or apps via the Android SDK and want some exposure, please submit it to us.

Ask.com Tries to Differentiate itself from Google with “AskEraser”

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

Looks like Ask.com is using their AskEraser as a marketing campaign to differentiate itself from Google. But they will soon find out people will see through this scheme. The reality is, the segment of people that are concerned about privacy and uses Ask.com is very very small. Also, private data are mostly used for profitable ventures such as advertisement (e.g. Google’s behavioral targeting). Ask.com does not even have its own advertising system, they use…. you guessed it, Adwords. There is no doubt that privacy on the web is non-existent, and there are always going to be those who will blame companies instead of being more careful themselves. But I foresee more companies like Ask.com turning this increasing public concern into marketing ploys. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see if Google will follow suit.
